An ode to my MOH

Which sis is which?

My baby sister is pretty rad.  She's essentially a mini-me, only much funnier and far more talented than I'll ever be.  At seventeen, she's seven years younger than I am - a senior in high school.  Some might say she's too young to fulfill the duties of a maid of honor, but as far as I'm concerned there's no better person for the job.  For one thing, she's one of only two bridesmaids who live even relatively close to me at the moment, and between the two, I see my sister far more frequently.  But even if that weren't the case, I'd still have picked her as my MOH because she's one of the few people in my life who really gets me, and who I know will always support me no matter what.  We're eerily similar, and not just in looks but in personality too.  She and my brother are my best friends, which I know is a rare gift.

            
Obviously, being seven years younger than me, we've had our fair share of arguments (and by 'arguments' I mean screaming matches), but as we've gotten older we've grown incredibly close.  I'll never forget her reaction when I called from Paris to tell my family that we were engaged. B had already talked to my parents, and my brother had a suspicion that it would happen while we were there, but the 'lil sis was so shocked and emotional, it was just the sweetest thing!  And she was adorably surprised when I asked her to be my maid of honor as well.
    
Throughout the planning process she's been incredibly supportive: she cheers me up when I'm feeling overwhelmed, sticks up for me when my parents and I are arguing, and amid budget stress, family politics, and distance complications, she's always there to encourage the decisions that will make me happiest.  Plus, she's blunt as hell.  There's no guessing whether or not she likes something; she'll tell you outright.  I don't always take her advice, but it's nice to know I have her honest opinion, instead of wondering whether she's just telling me what I want to hear.  That's invaluable if you ask me.
