"You and your bridesmaids didn't order anything from Interlude did you? Just saw on the news that the store appears to have closed its doors. Doesn't look good."Luckily we are ordering through another store, but I was curious, so immediately I checked online. The store's website said nothing about being closed, but there was an article on the website of one of our local tv stations stating that the store had closed its doors without notice, and that many local brides were scrambling to find a dress in time for their big day. It said that several brides had reported being unable to reach anyone at the store for several weeks, so they decided to visit the shop directly only to find the store completely empty. Yikes.
Then today I received this email from a local wedding site that I'm a member of:
Dear Brides,
It has been brought to our attention that the Interlude Bridal Shoppe has closed their doors as of this week. We do not have any information whether they plan to reopen at this time. We have confirmed the store is empty as of today. We have had several reports from brides that have not been able to pickup their previously ordered gowns. As the leader in the local bridal industry we are alerting you to situation at hand and providing alternatives for those of you who may be current Interlude customers. We want to express our sincere apologies to those of you who have been affected by this situation.
It then went on to list contact information for other bridal shops in the area that are offering discounts for brides with a receipt from Interlude.
I can't even imagine how I would react if something like this happened to me. One of the brides interviewed on the news has her wedding in less than a month and has no idea where her dress is or whether she'll have it in time for her wedding. What a nightmare.
Have you witnessed any shady vendors while planning your wedding?
