Signed, Sealed, Delivered!

I'm yours!  Love that song.  Makes me want to watch You've Got Mail.

Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan rom coms aside, in case you couldn't tell by the post title, OUR SAVE THE DATES ARE IN THE MAIL!  Talk about a huge weight lifted from my shoulders.  Addressing those puppies was a downright family affair, with my mom, sister, brother and I all forming a chain to get the job done.  (My dad watched basketball in the other room, and then complained afterward that nobody had asked for his help.  Sorry Dad!  Didn't seem like your cup of tea!  I'll definitely hit you up next time...)

I'll show you the design we ended up going with in a bit, but here they are, all ready for their journeys:

Oh, and just as a side note - with all the advancements society has made in science and technology, how has no one yet developed an envelope glue that doesn't taste like ass?  Someone needs to make this a priority.  But I digress...

The tiny little stack on the far left are the local ones (in the town where I'm currently living, not my hometown).  The middle stack are all the other South Dakota invitations.  That scary, towering stack are all of our out of state guests -- we are blessed with too many friends!

All jokes aside, though, before taking them to the post office I organized them by zip code (yes I know that sounds anal-retentive, but I've done a lot of mailers at my job and it's just a habit) and after putting them all in order I realized that we have invitees with zip codes that start with all of the numbers from 1 through 9.  From coast to coast, our loved ones span the entire country.

I guess I shouldn't be all that astonished, but it just seemed crazy to me!

Did you notice any trends or things that surprised you when going over your guest list?
